Writing Services – Harley E. Ryley

What can I do for you?

I like to think of myself as a woman of many hats, both the literal kind and the metaphorical. I spent 9 years in business and the public sector before becoming a freelance creative (and PhD student!), so whether it’s business development, a creative piece for a special occasion or support for your writing, I can bring my expertise and good sense of humour to the table! Get in touch using the form below to find out more and for a personalised quote.

Bespoke creative pieces for events and special occasions

Have an event coming up where you’d love to read a sentimental poem? A wedding speech that you want to nail? Or perhaps you want a poem to mark a special occasion like a birth. Whatever you’re looking for, I’ll work with you to find the perfect way to express your feelings.

Prices start at £8 for a 10 line poem, and £12 for 500 words of prose. I’m happy to discuss your bespoke needs to provide a detailed quote on request.

Mentoring

Are you working on a project and want 1:1 support to develop it further? I offer mentoring services for writers of memoir & creative non-fiction.

Prices are £30 for a 1 hour mentoring meeting and £45 for feedback on 3000 words of your manuscript.

(If you are a member of The Writers Workshop, prices are £20 for a 1 hour mentoring meeting and £40 for 3000 words of your manuscript)

Support to write your story

I believe every one of us has a unique story to tell that adds to the vast tapestry that makes up our world (indeed, my PhD research is around life stories!). I can help you tell your story, through a series of interviews. For more information and pricing, please contact me using the form below.

Thank you for your response. ✨

Harley E. Ryley is a memoir writer, poet & accidental novelist. She is currently studying for her PhD in Creative Writing at the University of Sheffield and is funded by the Arts & Humanities Research Council via the White Rose College of Arts & Humanities. Her thesis will develop an innovative approach to memoir which plays with language, truth and rules, writing a meta-memoir on language-constructed selfhood. Sounds fun right?

Harley also uses her ‘proper job’ skills from her previous life as a Civil Servant to provide Business Development services to creative organisations. Check out ‘writing services’ to find out more.

Harley is a white 30-something woman with red wavy hair and wearing a white jumper. A red and blue block of flats is visible behind her.
